Hi there, I was looking for information about the PCM1 8bit system on the internet and so I came on this forum. I hope you can help me. Since a few weeks I have a Porsche 911 - 996 turbo with the PCM1 system inside. The problem is that I don't have the manual. I can't change the speaking voice, it is in Italian (the car is imported) and I live in the Netherlands. If I change the language, only the displaylanguage changes. I also want to know how to callibrate the system. I can't find anything about that in the display either. Who can help me? Please mail at lmsr@bink.nl

I have the US version manual. It is called Porsche Communications Management The part number appears to be WKD 475 424 99 I'll see if I can find the info and if so email you a pdf of the page. You might just get the manaul at the dealer. It will be worth the effort. I had to hunt one down myself.

I sent you the pages in question. Please let me know if you get it and if it works.

Cheers,

Dan

Hello Dan, thanks again for sending the pages. I tried to change the language just as it is discribed but the voice still remains Italian. Tomorrow I'am going back to the dealer and see what he can do. Thanks again.

Hi everybody,

I have same kind of problem. Speaking voice is German and I would like to change it to English (because Finnish is not an option I think). Advices very much appreciated.

PCM 1 has the following options that can be set with a PST2 or PIWIS tester:

The PCM (1) can be coded on a country-specific basis with this menu item.

The following items can be set on an individual basis:

- Vehicle model (LHD vehicle, RHD vehicle)

- Language (driving instructions in German, English (GB/USA), French, Italian, Spanish)

- Temperature (degrees C, degrees F)

- Fuel consumption (1/100 km, mls/gal, mpg, km/l)

- Distance (kilometres, miles)

- Clock (12 hours, 24 hours)

- Time zone (CET, GMT, Atlantic, Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Tokyo)

- PCM active (active, not active)

In PCM 2.x the language can be set by the owner using the display.

if you yuo do not have a PCM 2 Owners Manual you can download it here.
