Hi all,

One of the "push rods" (red tipped rod behind drivers seat) snapped again rendering my top inoperable -- however, I am in the midst of installing a Zeintop, so I am actually willing to remove the top altogether...so my question is, how can I raise and lower the top manually and/or remove the top assembly?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just pop the push rod ends off and the roof will close when you pull it. You may need to undo the push rods to your clamshell to lower that aswell. This is only a temporary measure as the clamshell will reattle as you drive with no push rods attached to it.

Rob:

If you are willing to remove the top altogether, it is actually easier than dissassembling the pushrods, etc.

Here is a link to a detailed step by step process for removing the entire top with frame assembly (See post #5 in the thread):

It should take you no more than 30 to 45 minutes, start to finish.

Regards, Maurice.
