Does anyone known where to tap RPM / Tach signal from the 997?

I have a shift light that was installed on my old 996 which I want to move on the 997. When I had it on the 996 I directly tapped from one of the wires of the OBD II terminal.

On the 997, its not there anymore ALTHOUGH if I connect my Durametric, I could still get the RPM reading.

Thanks!

It is now on the CAN network so unless your shift light can operate on CAN you are out of luck.

This has been discussed here in more details - do a search if you want more info.

Not sure if this is helpful carrera mike, but I get a tach signal to my traqmate by tapping into P6 on my 986 ECU.

A 9x6 series car is different - you can get the signal off the OBD II connector (as documented here elsewhere).

On 9x7 series cars that same signal is no longer there - it is on the CAN bus so you need a device that read CAN bus data (f which there are several).
