Here's another UOA from me.... note that the lab reported back a high fuel dilution percentage. Although the Cu is high, it is half of what the factory fill UOA was. Enjoy....

Paul, how old is the oil? More than 1 year?

No, it was in the engine for 10 months -- I changed the factory fill back in Oct 07 when the car had ~7500 miles. This is my first Porsche so I don't know if having a fuel dilution above the <2% limit is "normal" for these cars. I hope to change out this oil closer to the 7500 mark next time to see if this oil has an upper limit to its "life".

Did you recently add a fuel cleaner, prior to the oil sample?

No, I don't use any additives for fuel/oil. Been buying Shell V-power gas (with 10% Ethanol, which I verified) since I've owned the car (from the same station). I bought enough of the Motul oil for three changes, and the second batch went in this time.

Other than the high fuel dilution, the UOA looks pretty good.

Are you using Blackstone? When you send the sample in what info do you provide with the sample?

Hi Tool Pants,

I stopped using Blackstone because I found another company locally (Bently Trib Services) in the greater Boston area. I provided the sump capacity, mileage on oil, mileage on the engine, engine size, oil brand/grade, added oil info, fuel type/grade, and where the sample was taken (sump).

Thanks for posting this. I love seeing these.

I do too -- I wish more people would do used oil analyses, but it seems that this practice is not very popular in the Porsche community.
