yellowing headlights

Recommended Posts

Is there a solution/fix (besides buying new) for the yellowing/burning inside the headlights. I have been using the proper H7 bulbs. I have seen headlight restore products on the internet, but they seem to address the yellowing on the outside of the lens.

Is there really no way to disassemble the headlight? I keep finding references to a process that involves baking the light assembly to unglue it, but I can not find a complete description of the process. 1998

I haven't found one for our headlights, but if you search youtube and the web, there's instructions as to how to put reflectors and HID into other types of headlights. They all seem to have the same watertight seal that has to be heated with a heat gun to soften it up and then they just pull apart.

I keep thinking I'll buy Litronics and then make a DIY with my old halogen lights on how to convert regular lights into litronics with salvage parts from eBay, but I just haven't been able to justify the cost of the project yet. Too many other things are actually broken and need fixing.
