Just to let you guys know that a loud squeaking noise that sounded as though it was coming from the rear cabin of the car was actually coming from the rear spoiler assembly. If I pushed down on the very top left of the spoiler on the rear deck lid, no sqeak, when I let it go, squeak. So, I just wanted to let folks know who would swear that the noise is coming from INSIDE the cabin that it may, in fact, not be, and that they may want to check the rear spoiler however unlikely it may seem given on where the sound seems to be coming from.

[edit: the real culprit was finally identified--see my post below]

Oh, and the noise is not there if the spoiler is raised.

[Note: I edited this post to delete my question. While the source is definitely the rear spoiler, the dealer has yet to diagnose the specific part]

Hmmm...interesting to know. Are you talking about the creaking noise when going up inclines?

I don't think so. This is a squeaking noise (a fairly loud, annoying, rapidly squeaking metal type sound) that happens whether idling, driving or closing the doors.

The cricket noise is 70% gone! Dealer lubricated the big plastic piece for the air intake on the engine. Apparently, the hard plastic pieces were rubbing together, and you can't put felt there because of the air intake. Anyway, I'm sure your mileage will vary in terms of whether this solution fixes your problem, but I started off swearing it was coming from the inside or near the back window, then the spoiler. And now, inside the engine compartment! Anyway, hopefully this information helps some other poor soul.
