Ok, so I read the thread here on jacking her up and changing oil. Got the new filter, oil ring and crush washer.

No problems with getting the car in air, draining and doing change.

I put 8.5 US qts. of Mobil 1 0w-40 in then checked. Still showed low so went and put the rest of the .5 in for a total 9 qts. I went for a drive letting her warm up and everything seemed good. After letting car sit for 1hr I used the OBC to check oil level. It showed oil to be 4 marks below full (so 3 marks showing blank).

Is it normal for it to take close to 10qts.? I ran her to work today and noticed oil drop on hard corners while keeping constant throttle. Is that normal for low oil level?

What is the most you have seen put in after a oil change?

Depending on the position of the car when you drain the oil, the amount that drain's out can be as high as 10 quarts. I usually have to refill with 10 full quarts in my 99.

Thanks,

I just added shy of another .5 qts and that seems to have brought it up to full.

Now I hope it stops the preasure from dropping during hard cornering and hard acceleration!

Check for oil leaks, my oil pressure use to flucuate quite a bit but after my seal replacements I don't see that issue anymore.

Thanks,

I have been looking for leaks. There is no staining on bottom of engine / transmission cases. Since getting the car in Feb I have put about 8500 miles on her with a lot of spirited backroad driving. This is equal to the same mileage the PO did over 3 yrs. I have noticed she burns about a qt in 2000 miles.

The weird pressure behavior has mellowed out even when the oil level drops. It almost seems like new viscosity had more to do with it.
