Hi,

On my 2001 Boxster (base) with litronics, the entire passenger assembly has stopped working. The headlights, parking lights, fogs, blinker all do not work. Operating the bliker on the passenger side gives a rapid blink from the rear as is typical on most cars when one of the blinkers isn't working.

The drivers side light works and operates normally.

As I highly doubt all the bulbs blew out at the same second, and the assembly itself is in as-new condition, would replacing the ballast cure this problem? I'm reluctant to spend $1200 on a new headlight assembly if its just a bad ballast (but, if the ballast was bad, wouldn't the blinker still work?)

The headlight switch also seems fine, and if it were bad, again, wouldn't the blinker still work?

I checked all the connections on the headlamp and they are all fine (i.e. it is secure and both rear connections are engaged)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you

Remove the headlight from the body panel and check the connector that stays inside the fender.

Look to see if it is broken or if any wires have pushed out.

If all of that is okay you likely have a bad headlight switch.

Checked headlight switch - does not seem to be the problem.

I pulled the light and checked all connections - all wires are tight in the connectors and the connectors are in the proper locations. I used a test light on the connectors as well - the main connector (all headlights use this - litronic and non litronic) is getting power and functioning properly. The other connector, however (the one that goes to the ballast) doesn't have any power...should it?

Thanks for any help you can offer!
