First of I would like to thank everyone for the help in advance. I've only had the car for 3 days and I feel like I've learned a great deal from just reading posts.

Ok, I bought a 2003 Boxster with 79k miles, S wheels, a few factory extras and what the guy told me was a blown/siezed motor, All this for 6500. I'm not too sure if it's a terrific deal but for me it's just right considering I can do all the nessecary mechanical work myself.

Now for the dumb questions, After reading the forums I plan to yank out the 2.7 and install a used/rebuilt 3.4. Right now I have located a 99 3.4L from a 996 which is a non e-gas motor. Being my car is e-gas can I use this motor and just replace the non e-gas throttle body with a 3.4 e-gas throttle body? Are the motors the same otherwise? Also is the throttle body from the 2.7 the same size as the 3.4?

Well I appreciate the help.

Thanks,

John

Thanks for the quick response, I've tried searching the forums and came up short. I can't seem to find any specific information regarding the differences between a non- egass motor and a egas motor other than the throttle body. Is there a difference?

Thanks again,

John

In a 3.4 liter there is little difference between the non-egas and egas versions. Throttle body is the big one and of course they get a different DME program.
