Can I make my Boxster beep when I lock it?

Hi, I would be interested to know if its possible to program an audible signal when the car is locked. I know this was possible on my BMW 320ci but I haven't read anything in the manual for the Boxster.

You can leave the storage compartment between the seats open, or not latched, and the horn will sound when you lock the car. It does on my 2000 Boxster. However, if you have something else not latched, you won't know it. It sounds the horn to let you know something is not right.

Mystery solved. I was wondering why people were asking about beeping. Mine always beeped, but now I realize that was due to the third party radio that was installed when I bought the car.

I think this was meant for the Timbo, the OP.

Would that piece of tape be meant for one of the two IR sensors by the rear view mirror?

I had that happen unexpectedly on my radio swap, and ToolPants provided the answer ...

If you have the factory radio, I presume you might be able to remove the plastic insulator to get the desired effect - not sure what if any ramifications there are, so maybe someone will provide more details.
