I recently purchased a 2008 Limited Edition Boxster S and although I am happy listening to the sound of the engine, I noticed that the stereo does not provide a simple iPod connection. How difficult/expensive is it to have one installed so I can listen to the iPod through the car speakers? Can any stereo stores install it or is this a job for the dealer?

I really enjoy your site and the valuable advices you folks provide...

Thank you!

Please use the search function. This has been covered many times here and on every other Porsche forum. The short answer is there is no easy, cheap high-quality way. Basically there are 3 main options:

1) Dension ICE Link Gateway 500

2) Adapting Porsche's OEM Cayenne adapter

3) A wired FM modulater

I note that SunCoast offer a Porsche OEM kit specifically for the Boxster from 2005.

So presumably Porsche have already "adapted" the Cayenne unit.

They also offer OEM kits for the 911 and Cayman.
