Rear Spoiler Doesn't Retract Properly

2001 996C2 Coupe, Tiptronic, USA.

I've noticed that my rear spoiler does not retract fully. It retracts when decelerating through the proper speed and there are no fault lights. The problem is that it doesn't fully retract--it's about 2 inches out from being fully stowed in the horizontal plane. Vertically, it's all the way down. I can push it in by hand to the proper position and there it stays until the next cycle.

Any clues???

Exactly the same motions. Normal deploy; abnormal retraction. No annunciator indications.

It is the one motor that moves the spoiler up or down. The electrical works the same either way - so I would look for binding and if there is none that pretty much leaves the motor.
