Hello folks...,

Just out of curiosity...,

When i use the key to lock the door of my 1999 Boxster when i turn it clockwise to lock the door i can see the little red light on the dash flashes one pulse/second but if i turn the key 3 times clockwise the little red light flash differently.....why...is there any difference

I don't think it has any relevance. It is just a security light to let people know the alarm is on. You can turn the light off if you want.

Next time your use your key in the door, hold the key to the left or right, and prepare to be amazed! :lol:

Display of the operating state of the alarm system.

Six display types are possible:

• Off

• On

• Normal flashing (0.5 Hz)

• Double flashing (0.5 Hz)

• Rapid flashing (2.0 Hz)

• Rapid flashing (10.0 Hz)

Yes, they all mean something and they are part of arming and sequence checks - but it requires a lot of detail to tell you.

Buy a service manual if you really want to know... :lol:
