Just done my first Durametric analysis of my new car and just wondering if any of these codes are easy to fix myself DIY or just let the guy know for my next service?

Its a 2000 Model due for its 80,000kms service and I've found someone who can actually replace the spark plugs. I will also have to get the oil changes at least every 6 months as I purchased a 3 year warranty so wondering what you guys think about using synthetic or Mobil 1 as oil. I drive about 5000kms per year and the trip to the office is only 1km.

It's only been a week of ownership and all seems well with this car. Will be selling my SLK after the first service for my Boxster, though I might miss the folding hard roof :D

P0107 Ambient Pressure Sensor – Below Limit

Possible cause: Short circuit to ground

P1126 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Lower Load Range, Bank 1 – Below Limit

P1133 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Lower Load Range, Bank 2 – Below Limit

Possible causes:

– Incorrect signal from MAF sensor

– Fuel pressure too high

– Fuel injector fouled

In most cases this is a bad MAF sensor.

P1128 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 1 – Below Limit

P1130 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation, Idle Range, Bank 2 – Below Limit

Possible causes:

– Incorrect signal from MAF sensor

– Fuel pressure too high

– Fuel injector leaking

– EVAP canister purge valve open

Again start with the MAF.

Do they really require you to do an oil change every 6 months? Maintenance schedule says change every 24000km with 9 litres of Mobil 1.

Glad you bought the Durametric but anyone can change the plugs, it's rather simple. If you got the money for someone else to do it go for it...but if you bought the Durametric I figured you may be a DIY'r!

As far as the oil you may want to check with them. You need quite a bit of mobile 1 and you are doing it way more often then Porsche recommends...and if you read the owners manual I believe it only tells you to use Synthetic.

Thanks for that report on my fault codes, I will start with the MAF, are any of these faults urgent and what do they effect?

With regards to the warranty, it's through Fortron an after market thing and I agree servicing every 6 months is very old school but if I dont do it im sure they wont pay for any claims!

Going in for service this Wed, fingers crossed I dont get the call for additional work,

though I've booked in for Gold Class to see the new Batman flik so good luck with that!

I got the first service done and gave them a copy of this report a week before it was booked in, however they didnt really seem interested in replacing the MAF. I got no report on it either when I got it back, the car seems to run fine. How do you know when you really need to replace the MAP, does the car run ruff or something?
