2002 Boxster 2.7 Electrical issue

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2002 986 and am getting it ready to drive daily. The blinkers (left and right) do not work (forward or rear), and the brake lights do not illuminate when the pedal is activated. The hazard lights also do not work, front or rear. The parking lights do work front and back when activated. All the fuses were good, and we checked the relays in the rear trunk. One of the red/amber relays seemed to have connectivity issues (only one of the five wires was hot), but when we swapped the second similar fuse that did not correct the issue. All the other relays were good. Besides the fuse box under the driver side dash, and the relay assembly in the rear trunk (also on the driver side), are there any other electrical boxes in the car? A visual inspection has not revealed any, and a look at the electronic owner's manual doesn't appear to show any more, unless I missed it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If your fuse checked out to be good, It's probably the Flasher Relay Support Cockpit.

relay support 1 position 3 #1HO.953.227

Thanks for the response. I put her in the shop today to replace the rear plastic window. When she's out in a few days I'll definitely check the relay. Once I find out what's wrong, I'll post the solution.

Upon inspection the relay had been removed because the hazard switch was bad and the lights possibly would not shut off. One hazard switch and one relay later and the problem was resolved. Thanks for the advice.
