I am assembling a small tire trailer for my 2003 996TT for track events.

I need to wire for the trailer lights. Do I need to bring a dedicated wire from

the fuse box for power or can I just splice into the existing wires of the

rear lights?

That would depend on the power draw for your trailer lights. If it is not too much then you could just increase the fuse size (slightly).

So, yes, I can take the trailer lights directly off the rear car lights if I increase the fuse size slightly? (The trailer has normal/small tail lights.)

Thanx

I would be happy to provide pictures and info when done (1 week or so). The trailer hitch is custom made by a retired Mechanical Engineer who's career was designing hitches. Mine was specifically made for a 996TT. He can be reached at dustyn@calaveras.k12.ca.us.
