Hi all,

When I turn my car on- it automatically turns the a/c on and sets it to 69 degrees. How can I disable this from happening and make it so the temp control is only activated when I manually turn it on?

thanks in advance

Press the snowflake button (when the car is on).

Thank you my friend! I will try it this afternoon and report back. So this should disable the temp control from automatically turning on when I turn my car on from now on?

Turning off the A/C while the car is running will prevent the A/C from running when you restart the car, but it won't prevent the automatic temperature control from ramping the fan speed up/down to try to maintain the temperature set point. That function is disabled by pressing one of the fan speed control buttons to convert the temperature control to manual. If you do that before turning the car off, it will remain in the manual mode when you restart the car.

Don't use Auto, use it in manual mode and do as Loren has stated.

That was the point of my post. Just turning off A/C doesn't take the system out of Auto. The fan control has to be changed before it will go to Manual; at least that is the way it works on my '99. Apologies if the HVAC used in the later cars implement a different program.
