What model and model year car please?

Are you getting an airbag light?

What fault code(s) are you getting? (there is a TSB for two different faults)

I have a 2000 Boxster with the airbag light illuminated. The fault code is 21. There is reference to ignition device. Is this a fix that I can perform?

This fault is for the steering wheel airbag.

If you have recently had the steering wheel off or the airbag off it is possible that it is not connected, or perhaps there is a worn wire.

If you decide to check this yourself disconnect the battery and realize that airbag can still go off (with no power).

Your dealer has a special test box that they put in place of the airbag and then they test the firing circuit (and wiring) with a PST2 or PIWIS tester. If the circuits tests okay - then you replace the airbag. Otherwise you repair the wire, control box, etc.
