Window and Alarm Problem

My drivers side door window is working erratically. The window will usually not go down the 1/2 inch when opening and closing. Sometimes it will when i open it and then immediatly go back up; so when you close it the window hits the top and does not seal. Also, the door lock indicator is red and i get the alarm horn beep whenever i deactivate.

Any help would be appreciated so i can get this fixed.

note: it appears like the door is making a noise like it is trying to lock/unlock and can't. sometimes i can hold down the door lock switch and the light will go off. when i open the drivers door the window will go down the 1/2 inch but will immediately then go back to full up and the door lock switch will then go to red. the pass. door is working correctly.

U got a faulty door micro switch.

Will need to replace the door latch unit.

Junninc probably has it right, but I always give the any wire connections a good jiggle before I replace anything. Pull them apart and plug them back together a few times. Use some contact cleaner if you have it.

If you live near the ocean or it rains a lot connectiors can be a particular problem in any car

any idea where i can get the part new and/or used?? and the cost??? also i am looking for the whole interior assmebly or what???

I wouold removed the door panel to be certain,,,inspect the window regulator cable also, make sure to have a good tension.

On the bottom of this 986 main forum there is a topic called " window won't drop 1/2 inch".

I'm sure that will be able to help u out. U wanna get that part NEW prolly from SUNSET Porsche?
