Hey.

I have a 996 C2 Cab, with the normal 6 speakers sound package.

Is it possible to upgrade that to the Bose system with DSP ?

Or maybe just to get the DSP ??

Thanks for any reply

What year is your C2? if it is 2002 or earlier, you have a lot of upgrade options. If it's 2003 or later, the choices are pretty limited because the head unit and amp are tied into the MOST bus.

In either case, you can upgrade the speakers. For older systems, you can also upgrade the head unit and/or amp. I think most people will tell you that switching to the Bose is not the best option. I have the Bose and I have swapped out all of the speakers for better quality speakers.

My car is MY2001. It is not that the sound now is bad, but it could need a little bost.

But how is the DSP system working, is it a seperat modul or what ?

The DSP is built into the amp, and there is no abilty to make any adjustments to the DSP settings. The amp is o.k., but not anything special.

Okay, so that means that if you buy that special amp. with DSP it will work right away and you will then get the graphic equalizer option.

Does anybody know the price of the DSP amp or if they can be found used on Ebay ?

Is there any "weak" speakers in the car that is a good idea to start with and any good replacement ideas ?

If you've got PCM the DSP and EQ settings will show up when you hook up a DSP amp. I've got a used DSP amp I'd sell (the stock 6x40). I wouldn't recommend using it as an upgrade though.
