I was pulling in the drive way a few days ago, go out of the car and noticed a long trail of coolant following me and an large enough pool of fluid behind the driver side rear wheel. I just had the expansion tank replaced about 3 months ago so i am not sure what the problem might be. Any thoughts? Thx

There have been a number of guys with the 996TT (me included) who have had the radiator hose on the passenger side (rear)blow...maybe a bad lot....but with a sudden gush like that, it could either be a loose hose clamp like someone suggested, or a blown hose. To see the hose, I think you have to take off the wheel lining and look up and back...

Mine happened suddenly on the freeway so I had to have it flatbedded to the dealership...so I didn't get a chance to fix it myself....consequently, I am not 100% on how to get to it. There may be a DIY in here...or over on Rennlist.

Same exact symptoms on my 996 C2 last year. It was the water pump.

I think Chuck's point is that is is more often than not a hose on a 996TT - after all it is a very different engine.
