My passenger door makes a "popping" noise when it opens. Especially in cold weather. Any ideas? I am also having problems with the window regulator. Is this related?

1999 C2 Cabriolet

Thanks,

Patrick

most likely the window is not dropping a bit when you open the door and gets stuck on the channel. had this problem on mine, replaced the window regulator. there is a procedure here

BTW, regulators are on sale at sunset porsche right now (link above)

Check if the window lowers approx. 1.5 cm. when the door handle is activated (inside and outside ) to open the door.

The upper edge of the window have to be completely free of the soft top.

I saw the price for the regulator earlier. I am probably going to make an order a little later.

I am not sure if the pop is due to the regulator though. The pop was heard mostly over the winter, and the window didn't start going bad until a few weeks ago.

It doesn't "pop" until the door is about 1/4 the way open.

Then check and see if the door hinge is loose.
