Hi..~! I'm new to this forum... Just wanna introduce my self

I used to live in Australia, owned a varity of Japanese sports cars which i took to the track fairly often.

I'm now living in Taiwan and recently bought my first porsche.

2002 Black 996 Carrera 3.6 Tiptronic

Mods: Bilstein PSS9 Coilovers, BBS LM 18" Wheels, Techart Kit

Planned Mods: GT3 swaybar and TRG Links, LSD if there is such a thing.

The car's main accessory drive belt snapped about a week after i bought it... Luckily it wasn't too expensive to fix.

I took the car to the local racetrack to get used to the handling... Loved it..~! Much more neutral than i first thought.

Predictable handling, great brakes and very adjustable throughout the corner. No wonder its the benchmark sports car.

But recently a check engine light came on... something to do with secondary air system, bank 1 and 2.

The workshop cleared the code... told me it was nothing... usually just a leaking vacuume hose. But it might come back...

Well... it did..~! Gotta take it back once more to get it sussed out..~!

Anyways... got a few questions..~!

First of all Taiwan is pretty hot and humid throughout the year... rarely drops below 10deg Celcius, Summer in the high 30's.

Whats the best oil to use? Porsche recommands Mobil 1 0-40 even in the hot Australian climate.

Is it enough...? I'm thinking more Mobil 1 5-50 or even Castrol RS 10-60 (Which is what i used in my race cars). What do you guys think?

Another question... LSD for 996 tiptronic... is it possible? Does ANYONE make one?? I'm really not used to driving sports cars without a LSD...

Help much appreciated..~!! :)
