Brought my Boxster S, MY2001, to my specialist for a clutch & flywheel replacement. Job done, now car won't start. The startmotor works but the engine won't start! Weird...and I need it for a nice mountain trip here in Europe; aarrg...

Strangest thing, my specialist says he cannot read my ECU. He asked me if I chipped the car, nope... and actually I said that recently he checked my ECU for fault codes during the service interval.

Not starting and unreadable ECU. Ideas anyone?? My holiday trip plans are starting to fade...

Any ideas welcome!!

Ignition switches are a common fault. If your man can't read the ECU, did you check the voltage going to it?

I've had this happen a half a dozen times...can't rember the causes though. I know a couple were the result of my security box getting drenched...you can reach under the drivers seat and see if it's wet down there.

Regards, Peter
