shifting

2000 boxster 2.7 auto tip 57k

When i drive the car (after it reaches normal running temp) in city driving i noticed the car shifts from 4th to 5th at exactly 37 mph and the same from 5th to 4th. which gives it a smooth up shift and down shift.

but when im on the highway and i slow down from 70 quite harshly the car down shifts at around 45mph and the car revs up due to the down shift and slows down faster.....

my question is , is this normal???
