Hi Guys,

my first post here, sorry if it's in the wrong place.... I can't find anywhere Hi-Fi specific.

I want to add a line-in to my CR22 stereo. I don't have a CD changer or phone kit installed.

Does anyone know which connector pins would work as line-in?

I will wire up a plug to a 3.5mm jack and flush mount the 3.5mm jack in the glove box.

Would this approach work?

Anyone tried it?

I really don't need to control my iPod from the head unit via an expensive adaptor!

Thanks :)

I don't think so. don't think there is any pins for the AUX input.

But there are series of speker level out puts to the crappy factory amp. Using a IN-LINE to 3.5mmJack converter on the Amp's input side might work?

Who knows? I believe CR220 is so crappy it's not worth to hack anything,,, HAHA

do you mean the CDR220?

The CDR220 has an AUX IN and you can order the whole adapter with cables and line connectors from Becker for less than US$20

does this hold true for the CR220 also?

@ChrisZang

Nope, I mean the CR22 tape deck :)

You should look at the pinout for that radio. I know that on the CR-220 that there is a sticker on top of the radio with the pinout. You call Becker and see if the AUX cable will work with it.

You can always just use a cassette tape with a 3.5mm jack.

CDR-220 - yes

CR-220 - yes

CR-22 - i dunno. but you may be able to trick the radio into thinking that your iPod is a factory CD-changer.

you must also 'enable' AUX-IN on the radio by pressing and holding 'TP' button until display reads 'BECKER1'. then using the right radio knob, scroll through the pages until you see AUX-IN and select 'enable'. you can see if AUX-IN is already enabled on your radio by pressing the 'S' (source) button to cycle through the sources. if your sources are just AM, FM and CD, then AUX-IN is not enabled. if enabled, 'AUX' will be included with the previous audio sources whether the AUX-IN cable is connected or not.

but, chances are if you had AUX-IN enabled, you'd know it. ;)
