Thanks again, but that looks like the code for the "Thicker 3-spoke sports steering wheel in smooth leather."

I'm fairly certain that the Multi-function Steering Wheel (the one with the triangular hub) is different from the Sports Steering Wheel, which has the circular hub. I don't believe they are interchangeable. I could be wrong.

Well, you can try contacting Jeff at Sunset Imports and see what he says.

What I showed you is what shows up in both the parts list (PET) and the Order Guides.

From another board:

431 Multifunction steering wheel

+

CPA Thicker leather MF steering wheel

This is on my order and you will see it in November...

BTW, you need to order both codes to get Thicker MF wheel.

CPA is Porsche Exclusive option.

I spoke with Luke from Sunset and he couldn't find the right part number for it.

I'll ask to speak with Jeff next time I call to see if he can find the right part number for ordering.

Thanks for the help just the same. :)

Have you considered having the existing wheel recovered instead. Alan Gunn (based in the USA) has an e bay shop offering retrims and bespoke mods to steering wheels. In the UK K baggs trimming or similar can do the work. Certainly a lot cheaper than the porsche item which I would guess is about 1000 USD.

I believe there was a thread on here a few months ago with a picture of virtually every wheel option. The multi function wheel comes with a soft leather trim as standard , all the original multi function wheels I've seen are about another 0.5 - 1 cm in girth compared to the standard wheel. The XPA wheels are closer to 1.5 cm extra girth. The overall wheel diameter doesnt change , the padding just gets thicker making it look smaller.

Perhaps you want the 997 GT3 RS steering wheel?

Have u figured out the correct part number to the thicker wheel in u'r photo? I also have both the sport wheel and a xpa wheel and it definitely does not look as thick as the image in u'r pic. Does anyone know the part number of this thicker one?

Loren:

Thanks for the reply. The wheel I'm interested in is listed as an option by Porsche (XPA, I think) and is designated "Thicker Steering Wheel".

Attached is a picture showing the difference between "Sport" and "Thicker".
