Valve covers dripping oil

Does any one know whats involved in removing the valve covers on a 1998 boxster can you pull the covers without removing the sparkplug oil tubes thanks Rod

Spark plug tubes go through the camshaft covers so the plugs, then the tubes, and then cover are removed.

Search around as these subjects have been covered serveral times. It is not a easy DIYer project as you need special tools to hold the camshafts in place, or you can break them when the cover is removed. Or you need to know how to position the crankshaft if you do not have the tool before removing a cover.

The cover does not have a normal gasket. A bead of silicon sealant is used instead.

When I bought my 1997 in 1999 I notice a small drip from one of the covers. I snugged up all the bolts and it went away. You might try that. They are little bolts so just snug them up or you can strip the threads.
