Hello Todd:

I have read your lastest articles on how to install a new DME. I just want to be sure how to do it. I have the Immobillser code and DME programming code. Do I hook it up to the pst2 and read them and hook up the new DME? The dealer says didn't give me a code for the new DME.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Just follow the instruction in the OBD II manual or the service manual.

Might I ask why you are changing your DME?

Well, It seems the polarity was reversed when it was jumped and did damage to the DME. Have any idea's as to what else might be wrong?

Do you have a PST2, OBDII manuals, complete workshop manuals and I bet you will also need the diagnostic manuals and where in Fla are you located? I have all of the above and I am in Miami.

Before you replace the dme I would check the fused links under the dash on the passenger side. These blow, preventing damage to the main electrical circuits from things like jumping with reverse polarity.

With a brand new DME you need the old immobilzer and dme codes. the new dme codes are empty and you program them to match the old codes when swapping in a new dme.
