Hello,

I recently (last Wednesday) purchased a 2000 Boxster with 52,000 miles on it. It's giving me a P1115 CEL, so I'm guessing that I'll be replacing that sensor.

Is one better than the other? Should I stick with Bosch since that's what's in bank 2?

What about buying the universal Bosch and crimping it to the original adapter? Is it not worth the money saved?

P1115 Oxygen Sensor Heating Ahead of TWC, Bank 1 – Above Limit

Heating current too high

– Heating resistance too low

– Short to B+

Heating current too low

– Short to ground

– Corrosion in connector

– Break in wiring except for a few small wires

Open circuit

– Break in wiring

– Heating resistance too great

Internal resistance of oxygen sensor too high

– Open circuit in sensor line

– Oxygen sensor

Thank you both for your replies. I'll get under the car tomorrow (ok, now later today) and check the connection for corrosion and the wiring.

Just a quick follow up and another thank you. I was surprised (pleasantly) at how easy it was to replace the sensor. I went with the Bosch OEM style.

After backing the car up onto ramps, I had it swapped in a matter of minutes. One thing I haven't read on the web (probably because it's obvious to everybody but me) is to disconnect the original sensor before wrenching it out. Luckily I didn't break the plastic housing when it popped out on it's own...
