I just purchased my first Porsche a week ago. It is a 2006 C2S with 20,000 miles and I love it, but I'm curious about something that just came up yesterday during the first light rain we've had in about a month (Northern CA).

So it rained on the car for a short while yesterday and upon driving it home, I rolled down the window briefly and then rolled it back up to find that the INSIDE of the window was extremely wet. It was like the little squeegy seal just smeared a bunch of water on the inside of my window as it was rolling back up. I've never seen the inside of a window get wet from rolling a window down and then up again in light rain. Is this normal for Porsche? Or could there be something going on with the weather seal on mine?

For the record, both windows are culprits. And, the car had a UV film tint on the windows (was a Phoenix, AZ car) which I peeled off during the road trip home... but peeling that off carefully didn't leave any residue on the inside of the windows and it also didn't involve the inside weather strip.

Seen this on mine and others (Boxster and 996). When you role the window down water drips/runs onto the inner rubber somtimes from the outer and when you role it back up, the window is wet. Happens alot. Watch what happens next time. Bit of a design flaw i think, as the outer seal is 'higher' than the inner and this also holds dirt (which is visible from the inside of car when the windows are up). This shows that water/cr*p gets behind that then gravity takes it course when the window is down which will allow it to 'drip' on the other (inner) rubber.

There are new design inner and outer seals available since several months now.

I think that pretty well explains it. I didn't want to take a special trip to the dealer for it, particularly because it doesn't rain here too much. It doesn't look like the seals are bad or anything, so I guess it is something I'll just live with as I expect most people just don't even notice...
