1999 996 C2. US car.

Well I usually wash my car myself but decided to take it to the car wash. Bad move...

Yes, they broke off the edge of the Carrera badge on the rear decklid.

I know I have seen many threads on this subject but I couldn't find them in the search box.

Could someone please give (or lead me to) the intructions on removing it and the part number for the new one (in black.)??

Thanks in advance

Phillipj

Heat it up with a hair dryer, then run a length of fishing wire behind it to take it off. Wash off any residue.

Not sure what the part number is, but you can order them online at bumperplugs.com.

What kind of car wash were you using?

Thanks for the info. It was a car wash that I have used before. They always put a peice of tape over the badge to protect it. I think that the guy who dried the car caught it with a rag. Didn't notice it till I got home. Arrgghhhh!

Thanks again
