Loran and others,

I'm going to replace my manual transmission oil (1999 Carrera) this weekend and would like to ask about the oil ya'll are using. From what I've read most folks are using either redline 75w-90 oil or Swepco-201 oil in their transmissions....true or false? I can't find the Mobil 1 PTX oil, only the Mobil 1 LS oil; the Shell Transaxle 75w-90 oil that the Dealer uses is okay but I'm to far from a Dealer to do the job this weekend......I know that's my problem, it's just that is when I'll have time! So, what would ya'll recomend?

Also, does the rear differential use the same oil? And is it just a drain and fill, like the transmission?

Thanks for your input,

Use the Shell. And yes, the tranny and axle share the same lube and filling the 1 fill hole in the tranny takes care of both.

Thanks, I didn't know they shared the same 'HOLE'...........That makes it so much easer. Because I'm so far away from the Dealer and I want to do this job this weekend I'm going with the Redline.

Thanks again,
