Tire air pressure VS tire grip

So my stock michellins had to be replaced after 26k miles. I wasn't able to afford the michellins so I opted for the cheap BF Goodridge (600 for 4 tires) and now after fast turns I feel like the car "slides" when I make fast turns. The rear tires are over inflated by 5psi's. Question is this, If I was to drop the tire pressure back to normal or even drop it under by 5 psi's would I get better grip? Thanks

So you buy cheap tires, and then you wonder what happened to performance. Amazing.

You did a great job getting 26,000 miles on your Michelins. You should have stayed with a quailty product, and one that was/is Porsche approved.

The previous owner had put on 18" BF Goodrich G-Force Sport tires on my Boxster S, and I'm getting set to take it to the track for the first time. Should the tires need to be overinflated to prevent rollover like with normal street tires, or are they already designed to prevent rollover at the rated pressure?

Grover, there are several really good threads about your question. Try doing a few searches for "tire pressures". This is also something that you will need to play with because many factors play into it like; track temp, air temp, tires (size, type, condition) and driving skill/level.

Have fun. Be safe. And bring/buy a high quality tire pressure gauge to bring to the track.
