I've been offered a set of Bridgestone Potenza SO2 N2 for my 2002 986S.

Does anyone know if these tyres are still in production i.e. should I be looking at the date markings as one of the first things?

Anyone know what the 'N2' stands for?

Tyres are 225/40 ZR18 front and 265/35 ZR18 rear.

Thanks :)

The N designation indicates they are approved by Porsche, N2 means they are the 3rd generation of SO2s approved (after N0 and N1). If the link above doesn't work for you, try the article on Tire Rack:

Porsche N-Specification Tire Approvals

It might be helpful to check the date codes also, to make sure the tires aren't more than a couple of years old.
