Spoiler Motor Replacement Help...

Recommended Posts

Hello...

I need to replace the spoiler motor on my 2001 Boxster S.

Does anyone know if the motor can be replaced without totally dismantling the complete

spoiler transport mechanism? Does the spoiler itself need to come off?

I'm hoping there is someone who has done this that can give me some advice.

Any and all help is much appreciated!!!

Cheers

The Porsche book time for the motor replacement is about 1 hour.

The service manual has you remove the spoiler drive then remove and replace the motor - then reinstall the spoiler drive.

Loren...thanks for that. And for the radio code you gave me a couple of weeks ago!!!

Cheers

Have you definably verified its your motor thats at fault (by jumping it directly with a battery or a charger)? Mines out of whack and I know the motor works, the manual switch is good, both relays function in every way. it goes up at 75 an never comes back down (till I trick it). Go figure.

Regards,

PK

  • 2 weeks later...

Generally a motor that is not used continuously does not often fail. So, check the relays first and like another member said do a direct connection to the batt to see if it works then. I had a spoiler going up only 1" and just unplugged and switched the up and down relays and it's all better!!! These things are strange.
