Theres a guy on Ebay that sells the drain plug tamper proof torx for about $16. Do a search under ebay motors for " tamper proof drain plug Porsche" or some combination of like words.

For filling I used a bolt that fit in the plug, than locked two nuts together on the other end of the bolt. You wind up with a sort of 2 ended bolt. Put one end in the plug and the other in a socket, go to town.

Filling is a pain because it is supposed to be 11 mm below the fill hole opening. A cute trick is to jack the opposite side of the car a certain amount so the oil spills out sooner. But I'm not sure what that amount should be. You could probably figure it out on paper with a little geometry 101.

when changing the transmission fluid, be sure to remove the fill plug BEFORE you remove the drain plug. the fill plug can be extremely difficult to unscrew (i recommend giving both the fill and drain plugs a shot of PB Blaster 24 hours before trying to remove them) and if you drain the transmission fluid and can't remove the fill plug, you're stuck.

as far as the 11mm below the opening, i used the small end of an allen wrench to gauge the fill level inside the fill hole. just measure the end of the allen wrench and note where the transmission oil wets the wrench.

Chris - is that the voice of experience? I had that happen on a race car - couldn't get to the track that weekend because nobody could get the fill screw off after we drained the tranny fluid.

Do you have part numbers for these two items?

The hole where the wrench goes in is starting to go. I gues the previous owner was not as careful as I would have wanted him to be.

well, it almost was. but no, i was able to remove the fill plug eventually, although it was probably an hour after i had drained the transmission fluid. at that point i started to worry about what i was going to do if i couldn't remove the fill plug. but in the end, PB Blaster saved me. i can't say enough good things about this product. it truly is the best of the best.

Last time trying to squeeze thick transmission oil through a small clear tube into the filler hole, I spilled quite a bit and got tire of the squeezing.

Any recommended tool / pump?
