Loren, they don't seem to cover the oil changes as I thought the 08 models were more frequent, are these are on a seperate schedule?

Item 2 on each list.

For MY05-07 Oil/Filter change is "After 20,000,60,000, 100,000, 140,000 miles (30,000,90,000, 150,000, 210,000 km) etc."

For MY08 Oil/Filter change is "After 24,000, 60,000, 96,000, 132,000 miles etc. / 40,000, 100,000, 160,000, 220,000 km etc."

That's what it says but I thought Porsche reduced the mileage for MY08 not increased it.

I have checked, the checklist that is posted is 'Minor Checklist 2', there should also be a 'Minor Checklist 1' if you don't have it give me a shout.

Yes, after the first oil change the interval drops from 40,000 miles to 36,000 miles.

That's just a crazy long time to be running oil. This is pretty shocking, to say the least.

I agree -- just looking at the minor/major together, the oil changes go 24,000 -> 36,000 -> 60,000 -> 72,000 -> etc, so there's 12-24,000 mile jumps. Am I missing something here? Anyway, I'm glad I own a 2007!!!

I was curious, couldn't read the link in the screen shot, and wondering about the '08 Cayenne maintenance schedule (not included in Loren's update, but I have one on order). So I looked on Porsche's web site and found a fascinating comparison of the maintenance intervals for all "modern" Porsches (i.e., since 2001 model year). See http://www.porsche.com/filestore.aspx/defa...iletype=default for the comparison. It's the first document at Maintenance Intervals, and there is also a PDF of the maintenance booklet if you don't have one. Easy to see at a glance how the oil change interval got longer, then in 2008 went way down. Maybe using oils rated for 15K miles doesn't work so well with 20K mile changes! Not sure if Loren can host the comparison here for when Porsche decides nobody should see this
