Need proof that 5mm spacers are factory installed

I need help from all you Boxster experts. To use the factory 5mm spacers for autox (over and abover the 1/4" offset that the rules allow) SCCA requires that I prove that they are a factory installed part. Having it on the ordering guide or in a sales brochure is not good enough. I have already looked through the CDs of service manuals that porschelibrarian makes available with very limited success. Does anyone have access to a later manual that shows them?

For European cars: on page 4 - # 50 ( remarks ) of the homologous letter: * ZU NO.32: WAHLW. 5 MM DISTANZSCHEIBE AUSSER B. Perhaps you Americans don't have this letter, it comes with the car in Europe.

Alan, I have these on my 987S. They were factory installed, but they were still an option. You can see them on Porsche web site too in their Tequipment section.

There is a TSB that calls out what optional spacers can be used on the car.

5 mm spacers are called out as optional for 17", 18", and 19" wheels.

Loren is correct, but I will had the following, the Porsche approval of 5mm spacers is for stock wheels and tires only. If you were planning on adding aftermarket rims or track tires you may run into additional problems with the SCCA guys.

Thanks, Loren. I had problems finding the TSB section. I wonder whether it might be more appropriate to move the TSB link from the DIY Menu to the Documents menu. Regardless of that, I still think you run the best Porsche forum. Your constant attentiveness is much appreciated.

If the spacers were factory installed there should be an option code in the front of the service book as part of the build spec. I they were instaled by the dealer they should come with a certificate of compliance / fitting.
