I am interested in buying a SSK and was wondering where I could get either the Porsche or the B&M at a good price.

I know that the Porsche kit is a rebadged B&M but I think my local P-Dealer will not like the B&M kit. At the same time though I am not going to pay a ridiculous price for the Porsche kit (US$827 in Oz installed)

Am I crazy to expect to be able to buy the kit for about US$450?

Brandywine Porsche has them on sale. Prices listed in the June Excellence are $199-$225.

I got mine a while ago from this place: http://www.2fam.com

I think the guy I spoke to was Bobby. I know others have ordered from them and I've never heard about any problems. I paid about US$200-225.

I don't know if they'll ship to Australia but, it's worth a phone call/email to them to find out.

As a follow on to Arthur's question -- I read that there are two types of kits one that installs from above and one from below. Apparently the under kit can be removed more easily. Does anyone have any insight into the differences (why you would choose one over the other, cost, performance, durability, etc)? Thx

I had the B&M under car short shift kit installed a while back and like it a lot. I got it from Brandywine for $175. I got it instead of the in car kit because I was concerned that the in car kit would increase the shifting effort too much and be notchy, based on posts I'd seen on various boards.

The under car kit shift throw reduction is adjustable (10%, 20% or 30%--I went with 30%). The shift feel is tighter than stock but in no way notchy.

I have purchased through Brandywine a number of times in the past. I have dropped Justin Lane an email and waiting for a response.
