Front Boot/Trunk light stopped working

Hi Folks,

My front trunk light has stopped working - pretty sure its not the bulb, but does anyone know where is the sensor for turning it on when the lid is open ?

The sensor is build in the lock on the front of the trunk, and available separately.

do I need to remove trim to access it ?

The microswitch is in the latch mechanism.

So, you have to remove the latch, replace the switch and then realign the latch as you re-install.

Last guy who was pretty sure it was not the bulb - it was the blub.

The front and rear trunk lights use the same bulb, so swap them.

Also, if your front trunk is open and the light is not on, it will go on when you open the door or the rear trunk, unless the bulb is burned out.

Thanks for the posts guys - it was only yesterday, when I was showing the car to a friend, that i noticed the light was actually on, at the same time I had the rear boot open. When I last opened the boot, to see it not working, I had everything closed. relief !
