Alarm siren while driving

Recommended Posts

Would have been great for cutting through traffic B) If I could control it... and maybe get little flashing blue LED too.

Anyway would appreciate any help.... got in to my 996 today after unlocking with the fob, fired her up and after a couple of seconds later the alarm went off. I decided to drive back home rather than be a spectacle for the hundreds of people in the car park at the time!

It continued sounding for around 1 mile, with brief (2 second) pauses every 30 seconds or so. It stopped sounding without me doing anything in particular.

- It was raining heavily yesterday but the but the electrics under the seat are bone dry.

- The battery seems OK but the engine has always cranked a bit 'lazily' when starting.

- I think a genuine alarm sounds the siren AND the horn. I could only hear the siren.

When I got home everything seemed normal.

Any ideas what could set the alarm off but not make the immobiliser kick in like this?
