Hello everyone. I'm a 31 year old male living in the Atlanta, GA area. I have always been a car fanatic because of my father who owned both a 924 and a 914 when I was younger. I grew up in the back seat of a Porsche and I remember the 924 with it's black and white checked seats. I also remember the 914 and the way my dad would love to take it into corners at full speed. He'd always tell me not to tell my mom when we got home.

Well I have owned 2 S2000's and a 2002 BMW M3 Convertible and they were all great cars, but nothing can compare to the feeling I got last weekend when I finally decided to test drive a 997 C2S Cabrolet. I felt right at home and didn't need much adjustment. I almost forgot that my father taught me how to drive in the 924 and 914 when I was only 9 years old. He would sit me on his lap and let me shift for him.

Needless to say, I have made the decision to come home to the car that has always had my name on it. I'm kind of leaning toward the C4 or C4S because of the wider rear end and increased stability. I also think that I want the GT3 kit because of the aggressive looks. I haven't decided on a color, however, I'm torn between Red, White, and Black... all with black interior with the back seats, middle console, and dash trimming in the exterior paint and color.

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am hoping to find my baby by this summer. I have already named her 'Alba" after Jessica. My last sports car was Eva.

Welcome. check out the registry for all of the different looks and modifications we have done to our P-cars. They are wonderful. I'd go with a 997 c2s with the gt3/gt2 aerokit, or move up to a GT3. I believe the C4/C4S is only an inch or so wider in the back, but adds significant weight. In the end, they are all P-cars though and are beautifully crafted sports cars.

I have heard a couple people mention this, however, on their website and brochures Porsche states that the 0-60 times in both the C2 and C4 are identical in both the base and S versions. Is this a case of them simply not wanting to degrade C4 on paper but in reality the C4 is the slower of the two?

Same powerplant but with 4 wheel drive... A lot more weight. I personally like to be able to get the rear end lose if I want to (C2S). It is in the end though your personal preference.

Like Summoboy said.. They are all awesome cars. Can't go wrong with any of them!

The C4 and C4S seem to be pretty close to the C2 versions, at least 0-60. But the C2 version have a higher top speed - which may not really matter...... Any Porsche is a blessed gift and wonderful to own and drive. I drive mine daily.

Congrats on finally getting your Porsche. Your story about the 914 brings back memories for me. I was 13 when my dad owned a '74 914 1.8 in Carolina Blue. I learned how to drive the car in an empty parking lot as a young boy. Although the car only had 76hp, it was so cool to drive. I can still remember the VDO gauges and the center stack gauges. Best of luck with the C2. :cheers:

Yea I'm really excited about everything. I haven't pulled the trigger yet but I will be in the next couple of months. I'm looking to join some driving clubs too.
