Rear interior side panel removal

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum. I was wondering if anyone could give me some instruction on removing the rear interior side panels on a 2006 997S C2. I have removed the rear seats and I would like to remove the rear seat belts. To do this I have to pull the rear panels. I've removed panels from may cars and I know there is usually a trick somewhere in the process. I had these almost off but something was holding them at the top. I felt like I might brake something if I kept going so I put them back. Any help would be appreciated.

It is pretty much the same as the 996.

1. Pull seat belt rose cover up and off.

2. Undo fastening screw behind it (be careful not to drop it into the chassis).

3. Detach side-panel lining by unscrewing the hex bolt for the rear seat latch. Pull locking lugs of side-panel lining out of the clips in the rear side section and move forward enough to get at the back of the speaker.

4. Disconnect the loudspeaker electrical plug connection and disconnect. Remove panel.

I was missing the screw under the seat belt cover. I didn't take it completely off. Again thanks and I'm sure I will be back to pick your brain again.

I had to do this on the drivers side rear to get to the potentiometer.  There are two clips on mine that aren't mentioned.  I recommend:

2a.  remove the speaker grill

2b.  remove the speaker (one torx screw at top, then an L-shaped plastic tab at the bottom.

2c.  Unplug the speaker.

2d.  There are two clips on either side of the speaker - one to the left which you have to squeeze tabs to release and another to the right with a pin at the bottom and a clip (that pulls out) at the top.

 

I ended up following the directions listed above and broke the plastic clip on the left side.  I was able to glue it back but a typical aged plastic piece.
