Btboyd, what oil do you plan on using? Just curious.

Mobil 1 for sure. A past mechanic used 15w-50, but the most recent mechanic used 0w-40. Our temps here hit the low 20's in the winter, and the high 100's in the summer, 110 or better. I may just have to change oil every winter then summer. Hope this helps, thanks.

You do realize your car has two oil filters - right?

Loren, what was the reasoning behind having 2 oil filters on the 993 TT. What model years?

All 993's (normally aspirated and turbo) have two oil filters.

One for the engine and one for the oil tank. The one on the engine is obvious but the oil tank filter is behind the wheel well liner near the tank.

Lot's of oil for lubricating and cooling on the air cooled cars. My 1976 911S (2.7 liter) took 12 quarts.

A 993 holds about 11 (US) quarts.

Hi Loren,

I use Castrol edge 10w 60 in my c2s that was recommended by a few 993 owners. I live in Ireland so the weather is never really extreme either way. Is this oil ok to use?
