Entry & Drive doesnt work after changing car battery

Recommended Posts

HI,

I have a Porsche Cayenne with Entry & Drive.

I have run out of primary battery, started with STARTER MACHINE then went to cloest service and they installed a new battery under the seat of driver.

Now ENRY and DRIVE doesnt work (doors doesnt open or close) and starting with plastic key (control unit) from entry and drive not possibile.\\

I get displayed : Key not recognised with control unit inserter (plastic key from entry and drive)

I can still start and drive, with MASTER METAL KEY all functions work, OK.

Seems only the Entry&Drive is not working: Does not open door when i approaches, does not allow me to start engine from the control unit, only with the master key.

IS ANY WAY TO LEARN AGAIN THE CONTROL UNIT, WITHOUT GOING TO SERVICE ??? MY DEALER IS LOCATED 400 miles away and no other dealer arround here.

PLEASE HELP !

TKS

Catalin

From recent personal experience the KESSY (Keyless Entry System) needs to be reactivated for your keys at the dealer using the PIWIS. The car needs to accept the RFIDs of the Key FOBs as its own. I went in to have a new FOB programmed and they needed both keys. I was in a hurry when I left and didn't realize the same thing that happened to you happened to me. I brought it in and after monkeying with it for a while they got it working again with the old key FOB. This is the weird part. The new car won't let me unlock the door with the new key in my pocket. I have to manually unlock either with the metal blade or push the unlock on the remote. Once I am in the car the new key is recognized and will allow the ignition to be started with the plastic e&d key.. the old key unlocks the door in my pocket when I touch the handle and it starts the car with the plastic key. When you walk to the back to open the hatch with the new key in your hand the doors lock and the alarm is armed. You have to push the button on the remote to unlock the car again to lift the lid. The old key opens the lid just by touching it with your hand. Very odd..
