Front bumper Removal Question

Recommended Posts

I removing my front bumper to clean the radiators. The 4 plastic riviets is the problem. How are they removed without ruining them? Or, are they to be replaced during reassembly?

It looks like the whole rivet assembly needs to come out.

Thanks

Yes, the entire assembly comes out. You need to first make sure that the center pin is pulled all the way out to the end of its travel before pulling on the body to remove it. It's probably wrong, but I use two screwdrivers together to slowly work the center pin out to end of travel before removing the body.

You can also use a staple remover....the small one with the spring loaded jaws on it??? They work great for grabbing and pulling up those center pins. You usually have one of those lying around the house somewhere.....well....maybe not :)

Anyone has a pic of where these infamous rivets are located?

Thanks,

Gus

Did you read the DIY instructions?

They are on the wheel well liners.
