Hi All,

I am puzzled here. My car honcks once when the car is being closed (besides two blinks of the turn signal lights). I know for sure the everything is closed (the ''lid open'' light on the turm does not come on either). Is the horn a setting as well?? The car is a carrera S 2005.

Any clues?

Regards, Frank

If the horn sound when locking the car then there is an alarm zone open.

You will need the Durametric software, or a PIWIS to tell you exactly what zone is open.

Most likely a bad or mis-adjusted microswitch somewhere.

When I replaced my stereo it started doing honking. The porsche dealer sorted out for me and as my German isn't very good I basically nodded and paid the guy. I think he said there was damage to the connector or it wasn't quite fitted correctly.

Still taking the German lessons..... ;)

Thanks a lot for the quick responses. As far as I can check, everything is closed. The glovebox is not locked but closed. The manual talkes about front and rear lid, drivers door and glovebox. These are all locked. Car is still under warranty, so I will go to the garage then I just did not want to make a fool out of me by going to the dealer and then finding out that it is a setting somewhere.

Two of my colleagues went to the dealer because there remotes did not work anymore (after +7 days, so procedure is described in the manual). One of them was adviced to order all new remotes!!

Thanks, will let you know what the result was.

Did you ever find out what caused the problem. I actually want to go the other way. I want the horn to sound when I lock the car.
