Hi,

My Boxster has been ordered. I did not order factory floor mats and now I am trying to decide if I need some and if so what colors to get. There are lots of aftermarket mats and lots of customization options. Post any pics you have of sand beige with floor mats. Also anyone have recommendations as to brands to buy.

Thanks

Alan

Renzop, congrats on the new car!

I have Sand Beige interior with factory mats. Now I use an all weather mat called Hexo Mats in a beige color. Fit is great, and I don't dirty the floor at all.

Lloyd's mats are very good.

There are some really cool black rubber mats, for the 987, with a Porsche car silhouette in the grooves. You can see those at www.suncoastporsche.com.

Two ideas for you.

1. Get a can of a protectant and water resistant spray called Scotchgard. There are two variants, one for indoors and another heavy duty version for canvass/convertible roofs. Spray the interior/mats with the stuff and once dry it should make things a doddle when cleaning.

2. Get black mats. I went and purchased the black mats from Costco that complements the interior and breaks up the beige just right. They sit ontop of the originals.

Also, may be a little too late, but dealers normally spec mats for free. Try going back to them and have them to order a set complimentary.

I put black mats in mine. Also have originals savannas. And agree that LLoyds are quality product.

Also put hex pattern beige mats in each trunk. Kinda helps to lose the black cavern look - especially up front. But they smelled funny for a long time.

The carpet mats for the 987 are not very durable, the area under the heel of the accelerator pedal gets worn very quickly. I've now purchased the OEM porsche rubber mats which look smart in black with the PORSCHE lettering. Reasonable cost too compared to heavy duty aftermarket items. Regarding the front and rear trunks there are also options from porsche or you can have custom carpet mats made by a supplier from E bay.
