squeeky noice when driving over a speed bumb

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Finally got my car back today after the coolant issue. Indeed there was a cracked hose. They replaced them all and also releaved me from the airco pump noice. But now...... I have a new problem. Whenever I go over a speed bump there is a terrible squeeky noice coming form the engine area (or from the underside of the car). Unfortunately I have 8 speed bumbs in my street (yes, regulators love them here in the netherlands!!). I will investigate a bit more tomorrow, but I suspect the mechanic forgot to tighten some of the plastic ''tupperwaré''. Fees like when the engine "moves"the sound appears. Under normal driving comditions, there is no noice.

Are there any knows issues or advise how to solve this, where to look?

thanks, frank

Did some more investigation on this problem. The sound is noticable everytime my left front wheel moves ''vertical''. The car is a turbo and the suspension works fine. The stiffer the setting (lowest setting with sport suspension), the less noticable the sound is. Do I need to grease something? Trying to find a relationship between the latest action in the garage. Took away all te platic around the engine, but this did not solve anything. Thought that perhaps the plastic at the underside of the car made the noice, but as far as I could check no sounds.

Could the spring or suspension make a skueeking noice?

Thanks, frank
